arghhhh. So I spent most of this brief trying to learn from a tutorial with no sound.. I ended up spending far too much time on it and still not understanding it fully. By ignoring everything else I’ve now ended up with all my work being crap.. Lesson learnt.
This summer I WILL nail it though.. Just very disappointed & awfully embarrassed by the work I’ve produced for this brief!

worst sacrifice ever.
Seriously debating whether to miss the gig tomorrow.. I absolutely love The Subways, but my boyfriend has bailed on me to go watch football & I don’t have a replacement, and also it’s deadline week and I have a hell of a lot of work to do! Completely gutting as they’re my favorite band but i’ve actually never seen them before.. :( fml

Tumblr development updates have been slow as i’m working on my drawings to go in my book. I haven’t began to animate yet.. Quite worried so far about getting it all finished.. but i’ll just keep plodding along, it usually comes together in the end :)
This is the first drawing i’ve completed, it will be animated to grow across the page (well this is what I imagine..)

Just went through my craft boxes as I’m making paper bags.
I have pieces of card that I bought 5 years ago that I’ve never wanted to use because they’re so nice and I only have a couple of pieces of each… Why did I buy them if I can’t use them :( never buy nice card. Still daren’t use it..
Also, tonight i’m trying very hard to not start scrolling on tumblr.. been doing work all day and I don’t want it to stop now!

Lost my memory stick a while ago, very gutted as it had all my work on it..
The person who found it & kept it for themselves also lost it & It’s now been returned to me by the lovely Jules :)
Now I have that persons work.. How’s that feel hmm! At least they didn’t delete it I suppose..

I think i’m going to put my magic beans into a paper bag like these ones with my logo on.. & tie with some nice string. Posting this image because I want to try to tie the string the way the ribbon is tying the bag here.. will do some experiments when I’m home.

The ‘before’ & ‘after 5 minutes’ photos.
We have a complimentary cleaner every 2 weeks due to someone I live with being very unhygienic. The before picture was just after the cleaners had been & the after picture was 5 minutes later.. literally 5 minutes. I timed it.
I know it doesn’t look inhabitable there but if that’s 5 minutes imagine 1/2 weeks…
If I showed you, you’d vomit..
The reason I’m posting this is because it has a big affect on my work, it’s very draining living here. This isn’t just your average student mess (I don’t live with students), I can handle that.. this is unreal & you wouldn’t understand unless you were here choking on the flies & smell of rotton food..
That piece of burnt toast sat there for around 8 days before it was thrown away..
Can’t wait to leave! Next year is going to be so much better & it’ll show in my work :)

I have quite a few things to blog, I pity your tumblr feed. Research and things :)
Firstly, bits of inspiration for my fairytale book self promotion work. I was actually in town shopping for my birthday when I kept seeing things I just had to take a photo of.
The first image is a window display showing princess and the pea. I initially wanted to use this story but struggled to relate my usp’s to the story.
2nd & third, pretty books. The first looks like it could be a fairytale story, love the style of it all. If I have time I would like to have the 3d book cover have this kind of design on it. It takes a while to get used to the new software though, especially when there’s so much you can do with it.
The other book looked better in urban outfitters, it has an embossed cover which looked really nice, stood out against the other books.
The final image is the ‘ice queen scoop’. Haha just thought this was a funny idea :’)

Just found these photos of an abandoned detroit, they’re really quite creepy. To me it looks like people have died there.. It looks like an apocalyptic world. If a photograph can make you feel that spooked it must be a very strong image. Thoroughly enjoyed looking through these.
